Innovation Project
The goal of the Innovation project was to work with a user to create a product that would benefit them. We were divided into groups of 3-4 students who all had a similar interest in users. My group consisted of Truman, Luis and myself. We focused on Students and Teens. We started by conducting an interview with our users so we can create a product that they would bene fit from. Our user mentioned 2 big problems
1) Oranization
2) Having to carry too many things
Our original idea was to create a backpack with a built in lunch box. That would eliminate having to carry a separate lunch box to school. As we thought about logistics, we realized that it wouldn't be practical for this project, so we came up with a pencil box that allows you to organize in any way you'd like.
The first step was to create a sketch of our idea:
Based on this sketch that my partner did, I made a 3D model of it on Solid Works:
Through out the project and many critiques, we made changes and improvements to our designs:
When we had our SolidWorks sketches finalized, I created a technical drawing for both of the sizes.
We also made a few physical prototypes too. We made 2 prototypes out of card board and we made the final prototypes using a 3D printer. The final prototypes are fully functional.
